Join our outstanding non-profit organization! Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis seeks a full-time fundraising Event Manager to join its high-performing Development team.  This leadership role is accountable for signature fundraising events that contribute significantly to the organization’s budget, and for fostering and expanding key volunteer and donor relationships.  RMHC St. Louis’s Event Manager reports to the Vice President of Development.  The Development program is dedicated to furthering the charity’s mission of providing compassion and hospitality to families with seriously ill children.

This position leads the successful planning and implementation of RMHC St. Louis signature fundraising events as well as select third party sponsored events.  The role serves as an ambassador representing RMHC to external and internal stakeholders.

As part of RMHCSTL management, this position serves on and collaborates with the leadership and management teams to achieve strategic organizational goals in support of RMHC’s mission and Core Values.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with non-profit fundraising special events preferred
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial goal setting preferred
  • Skilled with MS Office 365
  • Database, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva email marketing, desktop publishing program experience preferred
  • High level of customer service orientation
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Track record of working independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Successful volunteer and donor engagement preferred
  • Proven ability to initiate and strengthen professional relationships
  • Ability to adjust schedule as needed to fit occasional evening / weekend programming
  • Positive representative of the organization

Essential Functions

  • Assist with developing and achieving financial goals, innovative strategies and logistical plans for:
    • RMHC major fundraising events
    • Recycle for RMHC
    • Additional fundraising opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of special events
    • Planning and implementation
    • Communication with leadership, staff, committee members, and volunteers
    • Budgeting, analysis and review of revenue and expenses
    • Sponsorship and auction item acquisition
    • Scheduling and facilitation of committee and sub-committee meetings, member recruitment and retention
    • Coordinate internal departments event responsibilities
    • Donor recognition and cultivation
    • Recruiting and managing special event volunteers
  • Manage annual event budgets
  • Provide leadership and service to volunteer committee members

Physical Demands

Must be able to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects.  Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting moderate to heavy weight material up to 30 lbs.  Must be able to frequently climb stairs, including up to 4 flights, and frequently walk distances up to approximately 80 yards.  Must be able to travel locally between RMH St. Louis locations and event venues as needed.
