National Benevolent Association

Position Summary:

The Senior Marketing Associate supports the communication efforts to promote brand awareness that increases engagement with and support of the National Benevolent Association’s (NBA) mission and ministries and amplifies the missions and messages of NBA’s partners.  The Senior Marketing Associate will report to the Director of Marketing.   The scope of work includes working in a manner that promotes NBA’s core values, including the values of belonging, equity, inclusion and diversity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

In partnership with the Director of Marketing, the essential duties and responsibilities include:

·       Social Media: Curate and manage NBA’s daily/weekly social media activities (currently, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) as part of NBA’s overall social media content plan.  Additionally, analyze campaign effectiveness, increase user acquisition rates, and monitor key metrics meant to strengthen the virtual media presence and reach for the organization.

·       Content Marketing:  Write, edit and format blogs, educational materials, promotional pieces, event invitations, and other content for posting to the NBA website and distributing via multiple channels.  Work with freelance translators on multi-language versions of select content to increase accessibility and equity of NBA messaging. Actively test new channels, audiences, and media types that strengthen the reach of the organization.

·       Social Graphic Design:  Create a variety of graphic elements and templates for use on NBA social media and website.

·       Website/Digital:   Assist with maintenance of the NBA website, including posting and updating content, SEO improvements, and administration of interactive features; experience with WordPress is a plus.

·       Photo/Video:  Assist with event photography and video production/project management, including creating/editing in-house videos as possible, as well as coordinating with outside freelancers on video projects.  Utilize transcription services and freelance translators to provide captioning for videos.  Responsible for all video assets and database.

·       Fundraising:  In partnership with the Development team, assist with implementation of key development messages across multiple channels.

·       Program Communications:  with the Director of Marketing and in partnership with Program staff, assist with communication plans, promotional needs, end-user facing content, reporting, and story-cultivation strategies throughout all of NBA’s program areas including public relations across media channels of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and additional markets.

·       Media Ambassadors:  With the Development team, assist  and coordinate initiatives with individuals that help strengthen and expand NBA’s reach through (though not limited to) social influencers and bloggers (e.g. video, written prose, audio, etc.)

·       Onsite and virtual event support, as needed, including: setting up and hosting webinars, special event activities such as NBA-sponsored programming or exhibit booth coordination, event photography and videography.

·       Education:  Stay up-to-date on industry insights, tactics, and relatable changes within the social media marketing ecosystem that strengthen the reach of the organization

Education/ Experience:

1.           Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/or equivalent relevant professional experience required; writing sample, portfolio, and/or project assignments may be requested throughout the application process.

2.           Experience with digital/content marketing (including web, blogs, email) and social media in a corporate or nonprofit setting.

Work Environment

·       This position is remote. You will need a dedicated space for your office.

·       Extensive use of technology required

·       Work in a variety of settings and at a variety of meetings; working alone at times and with diverse groups at other times.

Physical Requirements:  

·       The ability to communicate in person, on the telephone, and in front of large  groups of people.

·       The ability to meet a work travel schedule that includes managing luggage of up to 50 lbs.

·       Occasional need to lift marketing and work materials, 40 lbs or less

·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Required: 

This position includes regular travel for work. Estimated travel is 20% of this job, which can average to 4 days in a given month. The travel includes meeting and connecting with NBA partner leaders and organizations for communication/marketing purposes, as well as required staff meetings and NBA special events.

Salary

The salary for this position is $65,586.
