Events and Programming Coordinator
Central Reform Congregation is a vibrant urban Jewish community dedicated to supporting one another in holy ways, pursuing justice and lifelong learning, and providing a shelter of peace.
The Job
The Coordinator works closely with the CRC staff, Rabbis, board, and the Facilities team to make sure that every event is planned, managed, and evaluated at a high level of quality. The Coordinator will also work with the communications team to make sure that events are appropriately publicized to our members and the community. The position will eventually report to the Director of Programming and Engagement (position is still being developed) and will work with others on the Program team.
Responsibilities
●Book, organize, and evaluate all events proposed and held by the organization; this includes weekly religious services, weddings, other religious events, member events, musical programs, and other events held by our congregation and community partners
●Meet with potential clients such as brides or wedding planners, families planning b’nai mitzvot, and others requesting use of the space; help them plan their event and select from our “menu of options”
●Develop and maintain pricing for events and services available and consider revenue possibilities of space rentals
●Work with the Rabbinic team and Education team to plan b’nai mitzvot and other programs
●With the facilities team, schedule staff, and volunteers for events: set up, take-down, cleaning, etc.
●Provide onsite management of events either personally or using additional staff and volunteers
●Create marketing and communications plans for all events
●Create individual event plans for holidays and special programs
●Create content and submit accurate, engaging information to the CRC newsletter, website, and special announcements of events and activities
●Document events and share photos and other news following the event.
●Manage master calendar
●Work closely with the board, volunteers, and rabbis to create, manage, and evaluate programs offered to the congregation
●Ability to work with volunteers who may support or lead specific programs or events
●Other duties as assigned
●Oversees High Holidays (along with all staff and many volunteers)
Requirements and Skills
●Minimum 2 years of work experience
●Minimum 2 year’s experience creating and organizing complex events including those with multiple vendors and 200+ attendees
●Understanding of budgets and revenue possibilities through fees and donations
●Experience in designing marketing and communications plans for specific events
●Superior organizational skills and ability to complete tasks on a timeline
●Must be able to work closely and collaboratively with staff, board, and membership
●Knowledge of Jewish holidays and culture is extremely helpful
●Proficiency in project management software as needed
●Solid writing skills
Job Title: Events Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Program and Engagement
Salary Range: Minimum full-time salary of $45,000; benefits available and 100% paid by employer, paid holidays, paid time off.
Classification: Full-time
Schedule: Weekdays 9-5 or Tuesday through Saturday 9-5, will require attendance at events or Friday/Saturday religious services with other staff support as scheduled; hybrid schedule possible after training is completed. All staff are expected to work during High Holidays.
