Institute for Community Alliances

POSITION SUMMARY
The Institute for Community Alliances (ICA) is nonprofit organization and a national leader in the administration of HMIS. ICA has administered Missouri’s Multi-CoC Implementation since 2014. The HMIS is a web-based database used by over 100 organizations across the state, such as emergency shelters and housing providers, to collect data on households experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

This position works to support the organizations, programs, and users that use the Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) database, with the goal of helping users enter high quality data that can be used for a variety of purposes: reporting to funders, evaluating, and informing community- and state-wide responses to homelessness, connecting people experiencing homelessness with housing and services, and supporting research and advocacy efforts. This support by this position is through problem solving, through working collaboratively with a diverse array of stakeholders, and through dedicated, hard work.

The ideal candidate for the System Administrator position is a detail-oriented, self-guided professional with experience using and helping others use technology. You enjoy and excel at solving logical problems, thrive on helping others do their job, and understand how data can serve efforts to end homelessness. You take pride in getting things done right and are comfortable managing competing priorities. You do not need to be a programmer or an IT expert to be successful in this role – most of our System Administrators are former HMIS users, have a background in teaching/training, and/or have held technical support-related roles in past jobs. System Administrators on our team typically have a specialty area, such as delivering training or providing user support.

This is a remote-home office position, but the candidate is required to live in Missouri. Central Missouri Preferred.
