Position Summary

The Donor Relations Manager works with the Philanthropy Team to develop and implement a comprehensive, national fundraising strategy to increase revenue from foundation, individual, and company sources including complex grant proposals, face-to-face solicitation, online giving, sponsorship for an annual conference and unsolicited donations. The position supports mail campaigns, material creation, gift processing, acknowledgements and donor stewardship efforts. The position also requires coordination of staff fundraising campaigns, events, meetings, programs and other elements designed to enhance positive relations with donors at all levels. In addition to this position and the Vice President, the team has a Grants Development Officer and in total, raises between $5 and $6m annually.

The Philanthropy Team at PATNC is a fast-paced fundraising environment that cultivates, solicits and stewards donors while ensuring accurate, confidential donor data management.

Essential Functions:

Donor Stewardship: (35%) Oversee development and implementation of donor stewardship matrix. Assist with communication needs such as mailings, email communications and gift acknowledgements. Coordinate with Marketing/Communications to ensure philanthropy is present on social media and the annual report effectively represents donors.

Data Management & Reporting: (30%) Maintain development office systems in a timely and accurate manner.  Track and manage donor information in the donor database (Donor Dock), including donation histories, preferences, and communication logs. Analyze donor data to identify trends, potential major donors, and areas for improvement in fundraising efforts. Process donations in the accounting software (Aptify) and collaborate with the finance team to ensure donations are attributed correctly. Manage the “grant receipt” process to inform all departments of new grant agreements and their responsibilities. Ensure donor information remains confidential and up to date across the organization.

Project Management: (30%) Successfully and efficiently manage all assigned special projects such as Give STL Day, internal staff fundraising appeals, Giving Tuesday campaign, donor stewardship events.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in marketing, non-profit, fund development or a comparable field.
Experience in project management and/or communications.
Fund development or equivalent database experience preferred.
