Summary:
The Accounting Clerk serves as the primary source for auditing and recording monthly financial reports for all international ministry centers; prepares & executes int’l and domestic wire transfers; Fixed Asset tracking; and assists Associate Director with annual audit and other job-related duties as assigned.
The Accounting Clerk will perform his/her duties consistent with the LHM and Ministry Services plans, strategic plans, policies, and other guidelines, and within applicable law.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Audit monthly financial statements from Int’l Offices, analyzing cash differences, notify Int’l Directors of material discrepancies, and corresponding with the offices to resolve noted issues.
2. Journalize Int’l Ministry Center Income and Expenses by the 20th of each month and coordinate the transfer of monthly subsidy payments.
3. Resolve exceptions, questions, and irregularities regarding all areas of int’l financial reports, informing the Assoc Dir and Int’l Directors of significant findings.
4. Calculate annual currency adjustments for Int’l Ministry centers and prepare journal entries.
5. Prepare and file annual IRS Foreign Bank Account Report (FBAR).
6. Process Int’l and domestic wire transfers.
7. Fixed asset activity to include monthly addition and disposal entries and JV’s. Monthly depreciation entries and reports.
8. Provide excellent customer service to all “customers” and co-workers.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Assist the Assoc Dir of Accounting on annual audit work.
· Provide accounting research and analysis as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of two years of accounting or related business experience
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or similar software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or experience with international languages and currency
- International perspective on communication from different cultures
- Familiarization with automated accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus)
- Experience with banking wire transfer process
Location: Our office is located in St. Louis, MO but LHM offers a flexible hybrid work environment.
