We are seeking a Director of Development during an exciting time of growth. We are entering into a campaign to build a new, intergenerational community center to for youth and seniors in The Ville in North St. Louis. Help us build our team’s capacity and join this exciting effort to transform NSYSSC and the historically significant neighborhood.

Position Overview
• Provides leadership, strategy, direction, and coordination for development and fundraising activities, including working with the Executive Director and the NSYSSC Board.
• A responsible and visible position which includes varied duties.

Key Responsibilities
• Implement the organization’s development plan to meet annual and long-term fundraising goals.
• Work within and advise on budgets and achieve goals for all fundraising campaigns, including direct appeals, individual major gifts, corporate, and foundation support.
• Support the grant writing program.
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts through structured annual fund program.
• Implement, and track donor recognition opportunities and activities.
• Advance donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Assist on capital campaign-related activities.

Administrative & External Responsibilities
• Understand departmental budget, including revenue goals and expenses.
• Work within the Bloomerang donor database / CRM.
• Oversee gift processing, donor acknowledgement and donor data management.
• Provide mentorship to Development Coordinator / Assistant.
• Assist in advancing production of print and digital case promotional collateral materials.
• Provide oversight and direction to website and social updates, including messaging and photos.
• Ensure compliance with style guide for all marketing materials.
• Assist with creation and distribution of press releases.

Requirements
• Represents NSYSSC in a professional, organized, and reliable manner.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of fundraising concepts and has a track record of success in fundraising campaigns.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire and motivate volunteers, staff, and donors.
• Has solid computer skills, including fundraising software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.

Qualifications
• 2-5 years relevant experience and proven record of setting and achieving annual fundraising goals.
• Entry and reporting experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) software.
• Knowledge of MS Office and online email marketing tools required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional analytical, written and oral communication skills.
• Project oriented, able to handle several tasks at the same time.

Salary and Benefits
• Salary / Contractor range of $80,000.
