Operations Manager

Reports to: Executive Director
Salaried position: $50K-60K depending on experience
Congregation B’nai Amoona is a thriving Conservative Jewish congregation located in Creve Coeur (St. Louis), Missouri. With over 650 households, our 33-acre campus includes worship spaces, administrative offices, educational programs, three kitchens, banquet facilities, an Early Childhood Center, and an independent Jewish Day School. During the summer, we host a vibrant camp program within our facility and on our extensive grounds.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and enhance the day-to-day functions of our administrative and building systems. This individual will collaborate with staff to ensure smooth operations, maintain the congregational activity calendar, coordinate outsourced custodial services, manage vendor relationships, and oversee building-related technology systems.

This full-time position requires a flexible schedule, including availability on some weekends and holidays to support congregational programs and events.
Primary Responsibilities
- Calendar Management: Maintain the congregational activity calendar, review space requests from members and committees, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Supplies Oversight: Monitor and replenish administrative and janitorial supplies to ensure adequate stock levels and budget compliance.
- Vendor Relations: Manage vendor contracts and coordinate third-party services as needed for building maintenance.
- Building Systems Expertise: Become proficient in operating key building technology systems, including audio-visual equipment, streaming platforms, and keyless entry systems.
- Gift Shop Support: Oversee the congregational gift shop, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales based on customer demand and coordination with part-time gift shop employee.
- Custodial Coordination: Communicate daily with outsourced custodial staff, coordinate weekly space use plans, and ensure timely room setups for events.
- Staff and Volunteer Supervision: Supervise part-time staff assisting with member services and events, and front desk volunteers with building related issues.
- Kitchen and Supply Maintenance: Manage staff kitchen resources and maintain inventories of congregational supplies.
- Key Management: Develop and maintain an organized key management system for building keys.
- Project Support: Assist the Executive Director with special building-related projects.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed to support the congregation’s operations.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google software products
- Proficiency with office and communications technology
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Positive attitude
Experience
- Five to Seven Years of office and operations managements experience
- B.A. or relevant educational experience
- Experience in a Jewish communal organization is a plus
