Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible schedule with evenings and weekends required for events)
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Marketing & Events Manager will report directly to the Director of Development and is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events. This role also involves developing and implementing marketing strategies to support the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, and awareness efforts. The Manager will create and manage content for digital and print platforms, oversee social media channels, maintain the organization’s website, and produce marketing collateral.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination
Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events (including galas, donor appreciation events, and awareness campaigns) under the guidance of the Director of Development, working closely with the event chairs.
Marketing Strategy and Execution
Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that enhance fundraising campaigns, donor engagement and brand visibility.
Volunteer and Vendor Management
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for events and outreach activities.
Manage relationships with vendors and sponsors to ensure successful event execution and community partnerships.
Event Promotion
Create and distribute promotional materials, social media content, and email campaigns to drive attendance and engagement
Support for Development Initiatives
Assist the Director of Development in identifying sponsorship opportunities, managing donor engagement during events, and supporting broader fundraising efforts.
Event Day Operations and Coordination
Oversee event setup, registration, volunteer management, and day-of coordination to ensure the smooth execution of events and activities.
Post-Event and Outreach Evaluation
Conduct post-event evaluations to assess outcomes, gather feedback, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Track and report on community outreach efforts and their impact.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison to the Junior Board, providing support and guidance for all events.
Support third-party fundraising efforts and community-organized events by providing guidance, materials, and volunteer coordination.
Document events and community activities for marketing and promotional purposes, capturing photos, videos, and testimonials in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
Coordinate with the Director of Development to create marketing materials that support donor cultivation, stewardship, and retention efforts.
Develop and execute PR strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets and influencers to secure coverage for key events and organizational news.
Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications to highlight organizational achievements.
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports to the Director of Development with insights and recommendations.
Ensure marketing materials and communications align with organization’s brand and development objectives.
Assist in the creation and distribution of monthly newsletters (E-News).
Manage relationships with external vendors, such as printers and designers, for marketing needs.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, event planning, or related fields.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups.
Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, social media, and email marketing.
Strong communication and creative writing skills.
Ability to build and maintain media relationships.
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Familiarity with event and design software (OneCause/BidPal, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, Outlook, wordpress) and content management systems.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $52,000-$58,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
Benefits: Paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and partial health insurance coverage.
