SALARY: $95,000-$110,000/Year

POSITION SUMMARY
In partnership with the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Major Gifts will be responsible for growing an emerging major gifts program through identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individual donors, with a focus on Planned Giving and Annual Giving initiatives. The Director of Major Gifts will manage
a portfolio of current and prospective donors and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of major gifts, along with supervision of two Philanthropy Officers. The Director of Major Gifts will lead major gift strategy with Philanthropy Officers, work closely with other development staff and volunteers to execute
cultivation strategies, manage donor portfolios, and meet fundraising goals.
PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED
● Passion for the mission of Planned Parenthood
● Strong experience in implementing Major and Planned Giving and Annual Giving programs
● Provide management, supervision, coaching and performance evaluations for two Philanthropy Officers
● Track record building relationships, closing gifts, and upgrading annual donors to major gifts of $5,000 and above
● Cultivate, soliciting, and steward a portfolio of annual, major and planned gift donors of $5,000+
● In collaboration with the Director of Development, monitor and support the portfolio management of key staff, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Development Officer
● Ability to conduct thorough research on prospective donors using various tools and databases
● Familiarity with philanthropic trends and best practices
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills
● Experience with board relations and donor stewardship
● Demonstrated ability to write compelling donor proposals is preferred
● Other duties as assigned
● Periodic travel to affiliate locations may be required
QUALIFICATIONS
● 5+ years of fundraising experience
● 3+ years of management/supervisory experience
● Bachelors degree in a relevant field
● Experience in healthcare or social justice advocacy is a plus
● CFRE certification is desirable
