ABOUT THE POSITION
The Executive Director is the public face of TAP and is expected to oversee the entirety of TAP’s operations, from day-to-day administrative tasks to implementing Board-directed strategy. As a part of this expectation, the TAP Executive Director manages and leads a group of volunteers as well as supervises one seasonal staff person.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements the plan to accomplish the mission in accordance with the policies set by the Board
- Seeks Board input and feedback to build a collaborative relationship
- Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating organizations, funders, and the IRS
- Prioritizes a positive, responsive, collaborative, and ethical culture among volunteers and partnering organizations which align with TAP’s mission. This includes meeting the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) standards for training, quality control, and data security.
- Develops an annual budget and operating plan for Board approval
Provides requested reports to the Board and attends regularly scheduled Board meetings - Participates in the strategic planning and succession planning for site leadership and TAP leadership
- Manages banking, expenditures, and cash flow
- Prepares and submits all necessary filings with tax and regulatory authorities including the IRS and the Missouri Secretary of State
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Self-motivated individual with good time-management skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks
- Experience and ease working with a variety of computer software
- Ability to communicate effectively with TAP team members
- Positive attitude and belief in TAP’s mission
SALARY AND OTHER INFORMATION
- Non-benefit, part-time position (estimated to be approximately 1,200 hours annually) with compensation commensurate with experience
- Flexible hours, with some night and weekend work expected. Longer hours expected from November through April, with fewer responsibilities during the remaining months.
