POSITION SUMMARY
The Missouri Humanities Grants Assistant (GA) is a temporary position that will support Missouri Humanities grantmaking through June 30, 2025 with a possibility of being extended. The GA will be a trusted self-starter and professional team contributor who is responsible to work in partnership with the Director of Operations to carry out the mission and strategic advancement of Missouri Humanities. The GA will be involved in confidential and high-impact grantmaking and administration that require an acute attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, proactive thinking and execution, and a consistent demonstration of a high level of trust. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and the Executive Director the GA works to promote, monitor, and award Missouri Humanities grants programs.
All Missouri Humanities team members must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.
Hourly Rate: $20 an hour
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-time up to 30 hours
Reports to: Grants Officer/Director of Operations
Working Conditions: In-Person, St. Charles Regional Office
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Subaward administration
• Attend meetings and support the work of the Missouri Humanities Grants Committee
• Support grant writing workshops and provide feedback to humanities partners that connect them to Missouri Humanities’ grant program and other grant opportunities from other sources
• Provide guidance and support to applicants in proposal development and implementation
• Answer questions via phone and email, troubleshoot uploading applications online.
• Send award notifications, contracts, and invoices for grant awards.
• Monitor and align grants policy and procedures to adapt to changing priorities, equity needs, best practices, and grantee/applicant feedback
• Refresh and update documents using Adobe and Microsoft Office, reformat and design brochures and forms, proofread documents.
• Identify opportunities to improve MH’s digital grantmaking system.
• Review and track grantee outcomes, data entry, final report tracking
• Attend grant-funded programs, take pictures, and write summaries of your observations.
• Analyze outcomes of overlapping grant cycles, offer written and verbal reports to superiors and stakeholders on progress.
• Assist the Director of Operations as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
•Comfortable in a high-performing, fast-paced and quickly growing organization; demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Well-versed in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient with Google Drive and other collaboration workspaces
• Proficient in Foundant or other grantmaking software
• Ability to manage confidential information with tact and discretion
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with applicants, committee members, and stakeholders
• Proven history of self-directed work to improve processes and procedures
• Must possess executive maturity, sound judgment, integrity, and a professional appearance.
WORK CONDITIONS
• Work schedule is negotiable and will fall within M-Th between 9 AM-5 PM. This is a part-time, temporary position based in the St. Charles office at 105 N Main St. Ste 108 St. Charles, MO 63301, with some flexibility available for occasional remote work. There is potential for the position to extend beyond June 30, 2025

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times and climb stairs
