MANAGER, FOUNDATION FELLOWS

The Manager of Foundation Fellows plans, executes, and evaluates the Gyo Obata Fellowship Program. The Manager is passionate about the St. Louis local arts ecosystem, an enthusiastic recruiter, mentor, and a talented organizer. This is a part-time but salaried role with seasonal ebbs and flows and the expectation of planned weekend and evening availability.

The Gateway Foundation strives to enrich St. Louis life and culture by supporting efforts to acquire, create and improve tangible and durable art and urban design. The focus of the Gateway Foundation is to foster and support cultural and artistic activities devoted to improving the quality of life for residents of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Build out application materials, review process and cycle for both fellows and host organizations.
  • Design and implement recruitment plans throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical area to spread awareness of fellowship opportunities.
  • Plan and execute programmatic aspects of fellowship inclusive of professional development sessions, mentorship program for fellows, orientation of host organizations, fellow orientation, opening and closing ceremonies, and post fellowship review/assessment.
  • Establish assessment metrics to discern fulfillment of fellowship goals from both the perspectives of the fellows, the host organizations, and the Foundation.
  • Enact evaluation of assessment metrics in preparation for program adjustments and mission alignment.
  • Serve as principal liaison between fellows, the host organizations and Gateway Foundation staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Highly organized and motivated to build efficient systems.
  • Strong public speaking skills for both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to communicate with internal and external contacts and influence persons in all types of positions using a high degree of diplomacy.
  • Ability to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise fellowship scheduling and programming.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule for Philanthropy and SVA function meetings and events, concerts and community events that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to analyze problems, exercise sound professional judgment and make logical and valid conclusions.
  • Life-long learner willing to ask questions and understand new fields of work.
  • Arts background through own pursuits or formal channels.
  • Proficiency in Google suite of products.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years designing and facilitating programs. Must be able to use sound judgment, diplomacy, and relationship management skills to achieve defined goals. Strong supervisory or employee relations background is also required.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Starting salary: $1,850 per month
