PART-TIME BOOKKEEPER

Dance St. Louis has been a trailblazer in the Midwest Region presenting professional dance from across the globe that has embodied the St. Louis arts and cultural experience for nearly six decades. As one of only four remaining dance-only nonprofit presenters in America, Dance St. Louis is recognized as a national and international dance leader. Our historical partnerships with world-renowned artists have brought dance to life for our city and has catapulted Dance St. Louis as the Midwest region’s GATEWAY TO WORLD DANCE.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

·         Oversee all accounts payable and receivable functions for the organization.

·         Organize and maintain financial records in QuickBooks Online including data entry and management of outgoing of all payments and deposits.

·         On a monthly basis reconcile bank accounts, accounts receivables, pledge receivables, accrued expense, deferred revenue and deferred expense.

·         Execute monthly journal entries as well as ongoing accounting measures to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual “books” are closed on time and accurately.

·         Produce monthly financial statements.

·         Provide accurate monthly cash balance to Executive Director for cash flow and forecasting.

·         Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaison with external auditors. Maintain accurate depreciation schedules.

·         As requested by Executive Director, generate reports from QuickBooks Online for grant reporting, progress reporting, cash flow and forecasting.

·         Compile data for 1099s.

·         Accurately maintain backup files.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

·         3 or more years in nonprofit accounting or bookkeeping experience.

·         Formal educational training in accounting; bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

·         Strong knowledge and proficient in QuickBooks Online.

·         High level of organization with attention to detail, analytical and ability to complete tasks on time and on budget.

·         Outstanding communication both orally and written, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Work Schedule:

$25 an hour based on experience. Up to 10 hours a week, hybrid flexible schedule.
