Generate Health builds collective power to advocate for racially equitable policies and practices that center, support and celebrate Black families throughout their pregnancy and parenthood journeys. We make change by organizing networks of community leaders, organizations, and providers, utilizing data, and advocating for policy and systems change. Generate Health seeks to acquire & leverage the abundant resources available in our region to participate in the dismantling of systemic inequity and achieve its vision for the region by 2033.
Position Summary
Generate Health is seeking an experienced communications professional who develops and executes a comprehensive communications plan, including external communications activities that, while coordinating with existing staff efforts, strategically raises our visibility among key audiences, strengthens our advocacy, fortifies our fundraising, demonstrates the impact of our work, advances our brand identity, and engages staff in advancing key messages.
As an integral part of our team, you will work to ensure that our messaging effectively reflects our commitment to justice in maternal and infant health. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping how our organization presents its mission and values, particularly as we aim to foster understanding and drive action around critical issues in our community.

Responsibilities
· Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
· Identify key messages to effectively communicate our mission and initiatives to diverse audiences.
· Create and distribute external communications, including E-blasts, press releases, and promotional materials.
· Create and distribute internal communications which helps staff understand how functional teams work together and communicate consistent messages with their networks.
· Manage social media platforms and the website to ensure content is consistent with brand guidelines and engaging.
· Coordinate and support events, presentations, and public relations efforts.
· Collaborate with staff to ensure clear messaging and branding.
· Track and report on communication metrics, including social media engagement, website traffic, and media coverage.
· Use data insights to refine communication strategies and improve outreach effectiveness.
· Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and journalists.
– Pitch stories, secure media coverage, and manage press inquiries.
– Prepare talking points, press kits, and other materials for media interactions.
· Assist in crisis communication planning and execution.
· Coach and support the development of direct reports, providing guidance and constructive feedback to enhance their skills and performance.

● Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
● Proven experience in a communication role.
● Proficiency in social media and digital communication tools.
● Exceptional writing skills: natural storytelling ability coupled with experience drafting compelling correspondence and marketing materials.
● Self-motivated and able to work well with frequently shifting priorities; ability to work with minimal supervision.
● Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships, interacting with others in a helpful and friendly manner to foster effective collaboration.
● Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask while meeting deadlines.
● Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive, complex, and/or controversial situations.
● Proficiency with Office 365, database management and ability to adapt to new technology.
● Knowledge of racial equity & ability to reflect on where you are in your own journey.
Salary and Benefits: $70,000 annual salary, 23 days PTO (prorated first calendar year), 10 Holidays (7 of which are floating), and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and flexible spending account. Paid time off also includes two weeks when Generate Health closes the office.
Generate Health is located within Delmar DivINe, a multi-use development of almost 40 nonprofit organizations, residential apartments, and business including a pharmacy, urgent care clinic, credit union, and deli. Working in the Delmar DivINe includes access to a fitness center, professional development, and opportunities for collaboration.

While this position will primarily work Monday – Friday during business hours, occasional evening hours are required to attend meetings and events.
