Position title: Marketing Communications Specialist

Reports to: Director of Development

SUMMARY

Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County seeks a Marketing Communications Specialist to help us tell our story through print and electronic mediums and develop, promote, and maintain Habitat’s brand. In this position, you will develop communication strategies, create and oversee marketing materials that deliver a clear brand message, produce a monthly newsletter, and manage social media accounts. You will assist in the planning of promotional events, community engagement, and outreach campaigns. Additionally, you will track community engagement on Habitat’s social media networks to suggest improvements to the overall marketing communications strategy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, organizational skills, creative skills, website knowledge, and graphic design—to carry out the following responsibilities:

·        Benchmark marketing communications trends in non-profit organizations and develop a marketing communications plan to create awareness and generate excitement about the Habitat, St. Charles brand and the work we are doing.

·       Collaborate with Marketing/Communications Committee to develop a clear brand message.

·        Increase and maintain targeted social media postings.

·        Partner with the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to promote volunteer opportunities through print and electronic mediums.

·        Collaborate with Marketing/Communications Committee to create marketing materials (images, designs, and copy for billboards, T-Shirts, events, flyers, and brochures).

·        Maintain our promotional and content publication calendars across multiple channels.

·        Manage social media accounts and track engagement.

·        Keep up with the timeline set for the release of content across all channels.

·        Oversee and manage website layout, content, and copy.

·        Identify fresh ways to highlight volunteer efforts at the construction site and ReStore.

·        Participate in exhibits, fairs, workshops, promotions, and conferences to promote community awareness.

·        Assist with promotional event planning.

·        Stay up-to-date with industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

·        Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media relations, business administration, or a relevant field

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Strong organizational and time management skills

·        Experience with ADOBE, Canva, Mailchimp, and CRM (marketing) a plus

·        Event planning experience a plus

·        Industry experience a plus
