Rung for Women is looking for like-minded individuals to join our team of passionate and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to inspiring women to climb the economic ladder. We envision a world where all women can lead equitable and abundant lives. Rung offers professional and personal development opportunities, along with a supportive community of women who want to earn a thriving wage and overcome the systemic economic, social, and health barriers to wealth creation.
We believe in unlocking potential and possibilities in our staff and Members. In 2025, Rung will focus on career pathways in the technology and advanced manufacturing industries. Rung for Women partners with employers and training providers who offer a fast-track to a new career through short-term industry-specific training, on-the-job training, and/or apprenticeships. Our Members gain access to a community of like-minded women, health and wellness amenities, and childcare to support them in achieving their goals.
Since our launch in March of 2021, more than 500 women have begun a journey with Rung. Many of them have completed coaching, and career training, and have achieved better employment opportunities and increased their income.

Position summary: The Communications Coordinator will support the coordination and management of external communications and content, social media, and public engagement strategies for Rung for Women. We’re seeking an individual who is creative, collaborative, and adaptable. If you consider yourself someone who has a way with words and a growth mindset, we’d love to add you to our team. The position is embedded within the Advancement department working closely and reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure transparent, consistent, and effective communications with all organizational stakeholders as well as the general public.
How you’ll help Rung achieve our vision: This position helps promote Rung’s mission and training opportunities through all external channels. The Communications Coordinator will assist in raising awareness across audiences including potential and current donors and members, volunteers, and the
community.
What you will do:
Ensure Rung’s brand supports and enhances Rung’s business objectives.
- Create content within Rung’s brand guidelines and ensure consistency within all external-facing channels.
Promote Rung’s brand and reputation with a variety of stakeholders.
- Create, write and edit blog posts, emails, scripts/talking points, monthly newsletters, website content, and social media posts and reels to inform stakeholders about Rung events, recruitment cycles, member stories and achievements, impacts, and other aspects of
community engagement. - Work with program team and members to curate stories with impact and meaning to translate and share across various communication channels.
- Support the implementation and use of the organization’s communication plan
- Assist with management and organization of a library of photos and videos.
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team.
- Work with the Recruitment Coordinator to ideate and create content for member recruitment.
- Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications to tell Rung’s story and promote our mission across all platforms.
- Assist with organizational events both in-office and within the community.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
What you need to bring us:
- Passion for Rung’s vision and mission.
- Minimum 2-3years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating, editing and managing social media content (written and video) across multiple platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with Advancement team on the development of institutional messaging
- Ability to connect with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion
- Ability to work independently and effectively; self-directed; responsible and accountable for decisions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Drive and ambition to pursue excellence while maintaining composure under pressure
- Knowledge of website development (WordPress); metrics; social media; media relations; advertising; email marketing; CRM systems; SEO; e-commerce; basic graphic design software.
